Nature Hike along the Santa Ana River with CNPS and FERM 

(California Native Plant Society and UC Riverside Friends of the Entomology Research Museum)


Come and enjoy a morning looking at plants, insects and birds with local plant and insect enthusiasts!


Join Oscar Clarke, Greg Balmer, Arlee Montalvo, and CNPS and FERM for a nature hike along the Santa Ana River.  Oscar, Arlee and Greg can help folks use the new Flora of the Santa Ana River and Environs to identify plants along the way.

Meet: Luis Rubidoux Nature Center parking lot, 5370 Riverview Drive at 9:30 AM. 


Directions to Luis Rubidoux Nature Center from Hwy 60 from Riverside:


Take the exit toward Rubidoux, go 0.3 mi

Turn left at Rubidoux Blvd., go 0.7 mi

Turn right at Mission Blvd., go 0.3 mi

Turn left at Riverview Dr., go 0.7 mi

Veer left to stay on Riverview Dr., go 1.4 mi

Louis Rubidoux Nature Center

Located in the Santa Ana River Regional Park, the center is a precious bit of the Santa Ana River preserved. With its live animal displays, hands-on exhibits, nature trails, picnic facilities and outdoor amphitheater, the center provides people of all ages a place to experience native Californian wildlife in its natural habitat. The center also has interpretive programs and special presentations. Located 3.6 miles from the Van Buren Boulevard and Limonite Avenue intersection at 5370 Riverview Dr., Riverside, the center is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday.  More information is available at (951) 683-4880.
