New Developments We
have received a limited number of CNPS note cards for purchase at our
meetings. As usual, the laminated wildflower posters, School Gardens books,
and other publications will be available. These beautiful items are
additional incentives to get out to our Chapter meetings! Remember!
Our chapter is looking for fundraising ideas and activities. Other chapters
hold plant sales and book sales. Contact Alison Shilling (see page 1) if you
would like to join in raising native plants for a possible fall plant sale. |

Interesting News (borrowed from SF Chapter) Sent by Katie Barrows JEPSON HERBARIUM ONLINE RESOURCES The
Jepson Herbarium offers some wonderful electronic/online resources. They have
assembled a set of resources, dedicated to the study of the plants of
California, that provide information on plant names, distribution, and
up-to-date taxonomy. Additional features include links to Cal Photo, the CNPS
Inventory, and the Flora of North America. For more information or to conduct
a search of the data, visit http://ucjeps.berkeley.edu/interchange.html. |

RSB Chapter Activities and Events RSB
Chapter Members staffed a booth in the 2003 Green Faire at the Jurupa
Cultural Center. This event took place Saturday, May 31st and Sunday June
1st. Mimulus and Clarkia, cleverly supplied by Susan Jett, our Chapter
Treasurer, bloomed vigorously around our tables and drew an impressive
visitor traffic and many inquiries about native plants and their gardening
uses. Membership brochures and CNPS literature were given out; books and
posters were hot sales items. The other booths and displays were very informative
and educational, with friendly and well-informed people . Join
Lorrae, Katie,
Alison and Nancy in this enjoyable event, next year! |
